season 1
showcase information
Showcase time is one of the busiest and most exciting times at Generations! We believe that the opportunity to perform allows dancers to develop their confidence, teamwork skills, and work ethic all while increasing their dance technique and artistry skills. But all of this can be stressful! This page is here to help you and your family have a positive Showcase experience. Please ask us any questions you have!
SHOWCASE FLOWERS & T-SHIRTS
For many families, giving flowers to performers is a tradition. Flowers are available to purchase through Commencement Flowers ahead of time and will be available for purchase at the Showcase should you wish to partake in this tradition so you do not have time to pick up flowers ahead of time. The table will be set up inside the venue for pick up/purchase. They will also have t-shirts with our logo and performers names available for purchase as a keepsake. You can pre-purchase and take a look here.
SHOWCASE EXPERIENCE
The Showcase is held offsite to provide students with a professional performance experience. The Lithuanian House allows our students to perform in a venue with a professional stage and backstage space, supported by technicians, lights and sound. Showcase is a great opportunity for our students to develop their performance skills and gain invaluable experience in front of an audience, whether they choose to continue as a dance professional or simply to stand in front of a group of people to deliver a speech, presentation, or any other form of performance. Working on showcase choreography is a team effort and all dancers must be committed to their class as fellow students and teachers help create an appropriate piece to perform!
A NOTE ABOUT ATTENDANCE
Attendance at this stage in preparing for the Showcase is vital to a positive performance experience. Students who miss more than 3 classes after March Break will be contacted by our staff. This is a team effort and every performer is important to the process. It is at the teacher's discretion whether a student with 3 absences may still perform.
