Showcase is one of the busiest and most exciting times at Generations!
We believe that the opportunity to perform allows dancers to develop their confidence, teamwork skills, and work ethic all while increasing their dance technique and artistry skills. But all of this can be stressful. This page is here to help you and your family have a positive Showcase experience. Please ask us any questions you have.

theatre location & accessibility
The Musical Theatre Showcase will be held at the Palmerston Library Theatre (560 Palmerston Ave, Toronto, ON M6G 2P7). This is a 20min drive (traffic depending) from the studio.
Parking Information: Green P parking is available at 557 Palmerston Avenue and at 675 Manning Avenue.
TTC Information: Take the Bloor-Danforth subway line to Bathurst subway station, exit to Markham Street, the library is visible through the parking lot.
Theatre Accessibility
The theatre is located in the basement of the library. Backstage and stage are wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms upstairs are gendered and wc accessible. The elevator you take to go from the first floor to the basement of the Theater is a tight fit for scooter users. It also needs a key to be used, so staff will be called to take patrons down. Please contact hello@generationsperformingarts.com if you will require one of our accessible seats.
showcase tickets
We have 110 tickets per show, with no assigned seating. Your children will be performing in BOTH SHOWS. You do not have to purchase tickets to both performances, only the showcase you wish to attend. All students will be backstage with supervision. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 7th at 7am. Please buy your tickets in advance as we will sell out.
Tickets are $26.50 + HST & FEES to help offset the costs of putting on a wonderful showcase weekend. Children 2 and under who can sit on an adult’s lap are free. *All Act 1 performers will be escorted to watch act 2 from the audience if seating allows. Act 2 performers will be escorted to watch act 1 from the audience if seating allows.
drop off & pick up
Drop Off: Please arrive at the Palmerston Library Thaetre 45 minutes prior to the 12:30pm showcase and 15 minutes prior to the 4pm showcase with your performer with hair and makeup done. First Musical Theatre should arrive in costume. Drama Stars, Junior and Youth Musical Theatre can bring their costume to the theatre. The entrance to the theatre is inside the door to the right of the entrance to the library itself off of Palmerston Avenue, just a few houses North on the west side of the street. All performers are expected to stay for the entire performance. Our staff and teachers will be present with the students at all times in backstage spaces OR with them in the audience to watch.
Important: The 12:30pm showcase ends with our Medal Ceremony, Special awards and final group bow.
Medals: If your child was with us in Season 1 (2022/23) or Season 2 (2023/24) showcase please bring your medal with you to the 11am showcase as they will receive a special Season 3 badge to pin on their medal. All new students will receive a special medal.
Pickup: Parents will pick performers up from the dressing room inside the theatre after the final bows/final show. You may leave your belongings in the dressing room between shows.
between showcases
There is only 1.25 hours between showcases to get your performers food, a rest and return back. We request you plan ahead, pack a meal to bring, head outside or to Christie Pits Park (10 min walk) to rest and eat before signing back in OR to Bloor street for some food - so many options. If you’d like your child to stay between shows, please let us know at drop off, we will have faculty on hand to supervise students in the dressing room. Pack extra snacks and bring an old t-shirt or cover up for eating.

showcase flowers and keepsakes
For many families, giving flowers to performers is a tradition. Rainbow flower bouquest are available to purchase by San Fiori Events and Floral (one of our awesome parents!) ahead of time and some will be available for purchase the day of should you wish to partake in this tradition.
Special this year: Generations Crochet Rainbow Keychains by TherasThings (one of our awesome adult performers) which you can only purchase ahead of time for pick up at the show.
Flowers and keepsakes will go on sale Monday, April 7th at 7am (the same day as the tickets).

Photography and videography are not permitted in the theatre. We will record the 12:30pm showcase. Digital copies of the showcase are included in your Production fee this season. The digital download link will be emailed out to all families by the end of June, 2025.
